Students and staff from one KOTA Territory community college lace up their tennis shoes as part of National Walk at Work Day.

More than 70 Western Nebraska Community College students and staff spend their lunch breaks walking from the WNCC campus to Frank Park in Scottsbluff.

President of WNCC, Todd Holcomb, says the event is designed to encourage people to improve personal health one step at a time.

Holcomb says it doesn't take much to start building a healthy lifestyle.

"Walking is one of the easiest but best exercises that you can have and also our wellness program supports the holistic development of employees."

Tree other businesses joined WNCC during their lunch-time walk, bringing the total number of walkers to around 100 people.

National Walk at Lunch day is sponsored by the Panhandle Worksite Wellness Council.
