A group stands up to fight against child abuse and spread awareness.

The March Against Child Abuse was held today in front of the Scotts Bluff County Courthouse.

Jody Radomski the march's Organizer says this is a way to spread awareness about what's going on behind closed doors, and let kids know they should speak out if they are being abused or know someone whose suffering from abuse.

The message hits close to home for Tammy Rood, who lost her three month old daughter Aubrey on April 20th of 2009.

Aubrey was a victim of child abuse and suffered blunt force trauma as well as other injuries resulting in her death.

Rood says she's marching to honor her daughter's life and legacy.

"It has affected me really bad. I'm standing up for it because I want to do something for Aubrey and honor her, and if I can save a child in her honor. That's what I'm going to do," Rood said.

Monday child advocates across the U.S. participated in the March Against Child Abuse, the Scotts Bluff march was postponed until today due to weather.
