Brian Ross to face trial for meth

Posted: Updated:

A man who testified for the state during a trial for a man facing a meth charge is now going to trial himself.

33-year-old Brian Ross is charged with possession of a controlled substance and attempted assault on a police officer.

In March, Ross was testifying for the state in a two-day trial against a man charged with distribution of methamphetamine. During the trial, Ross tried to buy meth for himself by texting a female.

Police conducted a controlled buy, and Ross purchased $100 worth of meth at the WTT parking lot. When police tried to arrest Ross, he fled- and nearly ran over an officer-  and led them on a short pursuit.

Ross is currently free after posting 10% of a $76,000 bond.

Ross will be arraigned in District Court on Friday.
