Kitten influx overwhelms Panhandle Humane Society

Posted: Updated:

They're cute... they're cuddly... and if you're looking for a pet, one of them could be yours.

The Panhandle Humane Society is dealing with an influx of kittens.

Right now, they are trying to find new homes for more than 75 kittens.

Panhandle Humane Society Employee, Heather Neideffer, says they always see a lot of kittens come spring, but this year is exceptionally busy.

Neideffer says the Humane Society is in need of canned cat food to feed the excess animals.

"Most kittens come in without their mothers," says Neideffer.  "So we have to take care of them in the best way that we can."

Neideffer says there will be a discount on full grown cats while the Humane Society finds home for all of the kittens.
