Tourism Week think-tank looks to increase visitors to Western Nebraska

Posted: Updated:

National Tourism Week is in full swing, and committee leaders from across Scotts Bluff County are discussing how to get more people to visit Western Nebraska.

A breakfast meeting at the Hampton Inn this morning gathered key players from many of the county's tourism departments.

Tourism week is to celebrate and acknowledge the attractions and events in the county that encourage people to visit.

Members of the western Nebraska Tourism Coalition, the Civic Center, County Commissioners and even former Senator LeRoy Louden brainstormed ideas on how to bolster and improve tourism in Western Nebraska.
"The importance of that is obviously so we can get together and find ways to make it better," said Scotts Bluff Tourism Director Brenda Leisy.
Tourism week wraps up on May 12th.
