Business owner talks prospects of future event room

Posted: Updated:

A panhandle business owner talks prospects of a future event room in Scotts Bluff County.

Owner of the Steel Grill Restaurant and Bar, Lisa Weborg, has been approved for a new liquor license.

The Steel Grill hosts special events in an adjacent building 10-20 times a year.

Weborg says applying for a 'special events permit' to serve liquor for each event is a hassle, and believes a separate liquor license is the best solution.

The building, located behind the Steel Grill, will continue to serve as a temporary event room for the business to host affairs like wedding receptions and high school reunions, only now with it's own liquor license.

"It'll be hard for us to gauge what or how long we're going to use it," says Weborg.  "I do have other plans in the future and I'm looking at other properties for more of an events center."

The space has been named Bar 21, and stands for Scotts Bluff County.  Weborg's Bridgeport bar is named Bar 64, and stands for Morrill County.
