Cars were lined up to get a little clean and give a little green to the Wurdeman family.

Local farmer Dana Wurdeman is suffering from emphysema, COPD, and asthma, and will need a double lung transplant.

His family held a benefit car wash today to help raise money for his medical expenses.

Wurdeman's children say their father is well known in the community and so far, they've seen overwhelming support.

"He is a local farmer, he's farmed here since 1986, so most of the farmers in the area know of him or know him very well. We're from here, born and raised here lived here all our lives. This is the first fundraiser so we'll see how it goes from here," said daughter Brandi Brunz.
The Wurdeman's plan to hold several more benefits and fundraiser's to help their dad get that double lung transplant.

Anyone who would like to donate to help can call Brandi at (308) 672-2727.
