Nebraska State Patrol looking to hire more troopers

Posted: Updated:
A shortage of sworn officers in the Nebraska State Patrol has launched a state-wide recruitment effort.

The Nebraska State Patrol is looking to hire 32 new state troopers to join the ranks.

Recent retirements and manpower shortages have prompted the recruitment campaign that looks to hire troopers in a variety of areas.

Lieutenant Lance Rodgers says the Patrol is looking for honest men and women that don't mind working in rural areas of Nebraska.
"What's nice about the Nebraska State Patrol is we have many different areas that you can work into whether its K9 division, criminal investigations, drugs, SWAT and WING, so its just not so much highway safety or traffic officers."
NSP applications are being accepted through August first.
