Chadron State's Con Marshall reflects on 50 years spent on campus

He's been called the 'walking encyclopedia of Chadron State College.'

Con Marshall has been involved with CSC for exactly 50 years and today, our Anndrea Anderson talks to Con in our 'Discover Dawes County' series.

"Yeah, I've been here quite a while," said Con Marshall.

You can call Chadron State College his home away from home.

"I graduated from here exactly 50 years ago this year, and I've been here since, just about anyways." 

In his half century residency, Con Marshall has worn many hats on campus, from student, to information officer, to CSC historian.

"Lots and lots of change." 

Though the years, Marshall has also met many people on campus, including his wife.

"When I went to college here, and you wanted to date... there was one phone at the end of the work hall in the women's dormitory... and you had to get the house mother to go up to her room and knock on her door and tell her she had a phone call. And that's how I got my date with my wife incidentally."

Marshall says he doesn't plan on leaving any time soon as he continues his position as the schools information services officer.
