CAPWN to receive federal funds

Posted: Updated:

A Gering health center is set to receive government funds that will be used to add new personnel to help with health care enrollment.

The federal government is awarding nearly $700,000 to six Nebraska health centers, including Gering's Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska (CAPWN).

The funding coming to Nebraska will allow the centers to hire 13 additional people, and will help almost 23,000 people enroll into health care coverage.

CAPWN is receiving $100,000 that will allow them to hire two 'out- reach personnel' to help people understand coverage options and help them enroll.

Interviews for the two new hires are underway. Close to $150 million is being awarded to health centers nationwide.
