Hemingford looks to build $5 million dollar wheat seed plant

Posted: Updated:
Plans are in the works for a new $5 million wheat seed plant in the western Nebraska town of Hemingford.

The new plant would be used to clean small grains such as wheat and oats for use as seeds.

The structure would measure about 170-feet-long and 60-feet-wide and will include outdoor storage bins.

Hemingford officials approved an agreement with project backers, but to qualify for tax increment financing, Hemingford must first draft a comprehensive plan.
