Posted: Updated:

He has already won the hearts of millions during his touchdown run during the Nebraska spring game. Now, a Nebraska boy battling brain cancer is getting congressional recognition.

Yesterday, Representative Adrian Smith asked his colleagues to rise to honor seven – year – old Jack Hoffman.

The Atkinson native dashed into the national spotlight after his fourth quarter 69 – yard  - touchdown run during the Nebraska spring football game this past April.

Smith boasted that the *now legendary* touchdown run was recently dubbed  ESPN's top sports moment of the year at the ESPY awards.

"At only 7 years old, Jack has inspired millions from around the world while raising awareness in funding the fight against pediatric brain cancer through the Team Jack Foundation," said Smith.

U.S. Senator Deb Fischer has already introduced a resolution that designates September 26th, 2013 as "National Pediatric Brain Cancer Awareness Day."
