Community member talks about affects of construction

Posted: Updated:

As construction continues on a new rail road overpass in Torrington, we speak with a community member about the construction and it's affects on the city.

For months, the people of Torrington, and area–commuters have been slowing their speeds while cruising through the city on Highway 26.

The construction of a new railroad overpass on the East side of town is part of the Wyoming Department of Transportation's U.S. Highway 85 realignment project.

Community member Isabel Hoy says the project's resulting traffic has been a slight inconvenience so she avoids the construction zone when possible.

"Sometimes it may take you the same amount of time but you're not stopped in traffic and I think most of us, when we get in our vehicle, we want to go, we don't like to stop," says Hoy.

The new overpass is expected to begin operating by Spring 2014.
