Posted: Updated:

A Nebraska man serving two consecutive life sentences for a 1988 double murder could be granted a new trial.

A motion was sustained today that grants the attorney's of Jeff Boppre access to autopsy records, in an effort to find DNA evidence that might free their client.

During today's hearing, Boppre's attorney's mentioned hair samples they've been unable to locate.  A new inventory of evidence will be compiled in an effort by the defense to assure all evidence is accounted for.

A motion filed by Boppre 's attorney's to conduct additional forensic testing will be argued at a hearing set for October 17th.

Boppre has argued for 25–years the he was wrongly convicted in the murder of 25–year–old Richard Valdez and his pregnant girlfriend 19–year–old Sharon Condon.
