Meth sales coming in larger quantities, according to investigators

Posted: Updated:

Investigators from the WING Drug Task Force are seeing a rise in methamphetamine sales across the panhandle.
WING Commander Dana Korell says in the past few years, the amount of meth cases has slowly risen. However this year those numbers are up more than usual.

Korell adds that undercover officers are conducting more controlled buys; and are able to buy larger quantities of meth from dealers.   "We've gotten some areas where we're buying ounces of meth for $1600," explains Korell. "In the past, we didn't buy that much because it didn't help us a lot. There weren't many ounce dealers we were working on- now there are."
Korell says funding from participating law enforcement agencies is helping members of the WING Drug Task Force continue to have the needed money to conduct these investigations.
