Staffing changes coming to city of Scottsbluff

Posted: Updated:

Some staffing changes are coming to the City of Scottsbluff.
The need for more 'proactive code enforcement' around the city continues to be a priority for many city council members.

In order to support requests, the city's part-time 'code enforcement officer' is being changed to a full-time position.

This will allot the officer more time to travel through neighborhoods, making sure all residences adhere to the city's codes.
A new fire fighter has been added to the city's 2013 / 2014 budget too.

But City Manager Rick Kuckkahn has advised the council to hold off on that hiring process until schedule adjustments can be made within the fire department.
