Driver charged in death of 2 Scottsbluff teens set to change plea on Monday

The driver accused of causing a crash that claimed the lives of two Scottsbluff teens is scheduled to make a change of plea in District Court on Monday.

22-year-old Ethan Kaufman is believed to be the driver in a January accident that claimed the lives of 18 year-old Alexis Wheeler and 19-year-old Hallie Anderson, just west of the Nebraska Border on Highway 92.

Kaufman initially pleaded not guilty to two counts of aggravated homicide and two counts of driving under the influence causing serious bodily injury. He is scheduled to change his plea in front of Judge Keith Kautz, on Monday, September 23 at 8:15.
