Rural panhandle post office burglarized; authorities look for answers

The United States Postal Service is asking for help in gaining information regarding a burglary that took place at the Whitney Post Office this past weekend. 

According to staff with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, sometime between the hours of 8 am on Sunday, September 22, and 7 am Monday, September 23, the Post Office in Whitney was burglarized. There are no details as to damage done or property taken during the incident.

Anyone who has any information relating to the burglary is asked to contact the Dawes County Sheriff's Office at 432-3025 or the Dawes County Crimestoppers at 432-0519.

A reward in the amount of up to $10,000 will be considered for information and services leading to the arrest and conviction of any person(s) regarding this offense. The reward at this time is being offered by the US Postal Service.
