Kimball locals strategize to market their hometown

Posted: Updated:

A group is teaming together to try to find ways to show that their hometown is a great place to live.
Kimball has been selected as one of the cities to be a part of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's program called 'Marketing Hometown America' campaign.

Kimball's Economic Director Wilson Bowling says this is a great opportunity for Kimball to put itself on the map and appeal to those who may not know much about smaller, rural communities.
"Most rural places, especially Kimball, have a lot to offer," said Bowling. "So the whole idea is to get people to think about Kimball in a new way, to come visit and perhaps if they find a good job in the area they'll actually want to move here instead of being a little more scared to move to a rural area."
Kimball was one of only two cities selected to take part in the 'Marketing Hometown America', the other is the city of Neligh, on the eastern part of the state.
