Service ranger makes big find at Hudson Meng

A forest service ranger makes a record-breaking archeological discovery at the Hudson Meng Bison Kill Site, north of Crawford.
The discovery of a five-inch projectile point is being described as 'one of the best archeological finds at Hudson Meng in the past 10 years'.

A projectile point is an object that has  been shaped into a point to be used as a weapon or tool such as a spear, arrow or knife.

The point is estimated to be around 7,000 years old.

Director of the Hudson Meng Education and Research Center Dennis Kuhnel' says this has been a very memorable event for staff at Hudson Meng and the lucky CSC Students who witnessed the find.
Students, enrolled in CSC's class '10,000 B.C. The Great Plains and North America were on a tour of the Toadstool Geologic Park during the discovery.
