Torrington woman to run for Secretary of State

Posted: Updated:

The chairman of the Wyoming Constitution Party is planning a run for Wyoming secretary of state.
Jennifer Young, of Torrington, owns her own Mary Kay Cosmetics business.
She is best known for spearheading the unsuccessful attempt earlier this year to repeal a new law reducing the state superintendent of public instruction's duties.
The secretary of state's office is held by Republican Max Maxfield, who is serving his second four-year term.
Young says the vote of the people has been annulled by both the superintendent law and Maxfield's successful challenge to state term limits.
Maxfield says that he will make a decision on his election plans early next year.
Young vows to serve only two terms if she wins.
