Trial for man caught peddling meth set for Friday

Posted: Updated:

A Scottsbluff man who was literally caught peddling meth this summer will have a trial by court on Friday in Scotts Bluff County District Court.

48 - year - old Skylur Nelson is charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Back in July, an officer with the Scottsbluff Police Department noticed Nelson riding a bike in the middle of the night, carrying two duffel bags.

The officer received permission to search the bag, and found a baggie with meth, two glass pipes that had white residue that also tested positive for meth.

Nelson opted to have a bench trial rather than a jury trial. If convicted, he would face a mandatory prison sentence.
