Gering P.D. warns of crime spike

The Gering Police Department wants to make the public aware that over the past week, officers have seen a sharp rise in property crimes.

Sgt. Edward Tjaden says the majority of these crimes have taken place after dark. Many are thefts and vandalism's that involve vehicles that are not locked.

Tjaden is asking the citizens of Gering to lock their vehicles, homes, and outbuildings and keep a close watch of their property and neighborhoods.

If you see anything suspicious, call the Police Department at 436-5088.
