Johanns says Harry Reid's decision limits voice of minority

Posted: Updated:

U.S. Senator Mike Johanns is saying that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid shut out the voice of millions of Americans by enacting a controversial ‘nuclear option'.

The move allows the Senate to approve *any* presidential nomination, no matter how controversial they may be. Republicans from the senate's minority don't have any input on the matter.

Johanns says this move diminishes the advice and consent provision in the constitution.

He adds this move bears a striking similarity taken by Reid and the democratic party when they passed Obamacare.

"Both were forced through on a party line vote as Americans were focused on the holiday season, hoping they weren't paying attention," exclaims Johanns. "And both trampled on the views of the minority party."

Johanns fears that Senator Reid's most recent actions will carry disastrous consequences.
