CO man in custody after possessing 50 pounds of marijuana in Nebraska

A 40-year-old Colorado man has been taken into custody in Nebraska for possession of more than 50 pounds of marijuana from Colorado, a handgun, drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine.

Gene Howard of Sterling, CO was taken in Friday morning by members of the WING Drug Task Force, Deuel County Sheriffs Office, and the Nebraska State Patrol.

On Thursday, November 21st, investigators with the task force received information that Howard was wanted on a parole violation from the Colorado Department of Corrections and would possibly be heading to Nebraska.

Officials tracked Howard north of Big Springs, Nebraska where he was taken into custody without incident.
