EWC student numbers shrink at Motel 6

Posted: Updated:

The number of Eastern Wyoming College students living in Torrington's Motel 6 is dropping.
A housing shortage at the beginning of the school year forced almost 30-students into temporary housing at Motel 6.

Vice President of Student Services, Doctor Rex Cogdill says that number is now down to 13.

Cogdill says when students leave school for things like grades or other personal reasons, it opens-up space on campus.
"I think things have settles in for the most part," says Cogdill.  I know a lot of students would like to be up here on campus.  We'd love to have them up here on campus.  It's just a matter of making the time and getting the time when it's appropriate."
Doctor Cogdill says EWC is looking to expand lancer hall in the upcoming years by adding two new wings with more than 40 additional beds.
