A trial is getting underway for a former Cooperating Individual that worked for the WING Drug Task Force, who went rogue in the middle of a trial he was involved with.

33-year-old Brian Ross is charged with possession of a controlled substance and attempted 2nd degree assault. He is also facing two misdemeanor charges of 'Willful reckless driving' and 'Obstruction'.

He has pled not guilty to all four charges.

In March, Ross was testifying for the state in a two-day trial against a man charged with distribution of methamphetamine. During the trial, Ross tried to buy meth for himself by texting a female.

Police conducted a controlled buy, and Ross purchased $100 worth of meth at the WTT parking lot. When police tried to arrest Ross, he fled- and nearly ran over an officer-  and led them on a short pursuit.

Ross is currently free after posting 10% of a $76,000 bond.

If convicted on all four charges, Ross could face more than 11 years in prison.

Back in February, Ross was sentenced to four years of probation, after getting convicted for selling methamphetamine out of his family owned restaurant in Scottsbluff.
