Menards collecting toys for kids

Posted: Updated:

The do-it-yourself store Menards is making Santa's job a little easier with its annual toy drive in Scottsbluff.

Members of Menards are teaming up with the Marines Toys for Tots Campaign and are collecting new, unwrapped toys.

For the next two weeks, anyone can drop off toys and place them in a collection box located inside the front of the store.

Store Manager Kirt Marshall says every kid has to have a present to open and is hoping people in the panhandle can help with the drive.

"Our employees and our guests have done a good job in the past donating these. We are down a little bit this year. Last year we did have 634 toys, this year we're hoping for 800 toys." Said Marshall.

The deadline to donate a toy is December 15th.

All toys collected will then be inspected and taken to Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska.
