NE Make-A-Wish Foundation, BBGH help Valentine teen visit New Zealand

Posted: Updated:

A local Valentine teen has returned from New Zealand thanks to the Nebraska Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Box Butte General Hospital.

Clint Miller was diagnosed with a form of leukemia about two years ago.

Miller wanted to visit New Zealand after his mother taught there for about three years and would talk about the culture.

Last month, Miller's wish was granted.

Box Butte General Hospital donated five-thousand dollars to fund part of the trip.

While in New Zealand, Miller bungee-jumped off a bridge, trekked through a glacier and rode on a speed boat with his family.

CEO of Box Butte General Hospital, Dan Griess, says this was the third year BBGH has helped with making a child's wish come true.

"We're just very grateful to be part of this experience and to be in a position to grant this wish this year and to support just wonderful things that the Nebraska Make-A-Wish foundation are doing." Said Griess.

Last month, doctors told Miller that his cancer was in remission.
