Diabetes Care Center hosts community food drive

Posted: Updated:

A major panhandle entity will host a week–long community food drive to help ensure families are well–fed and eating healthy this holiday season.

The Diabetes Care Center at Regional West Physicians Clinic will collect dry and canned goods to provide healthy food options for families in need.

Diet and nutrition specialist Mary Skiles says all donations are welcome but nutritious food is encouraged.

The goods will be donated to CAPWN's food bank and distributed throughout the community to those in need.

"We know that there's a lot of need right now in the community," says Skiles.  "We see that with our own clients, in our churches and out in the community.  So we thought, lets do a food drive."

Food donations will be collected from Monday, December 9th through Friday, December 13th.  Drop off locations include: Regional West Physician's Clinic: Diabetes Care Center, Internal Medicine, and all Family Practice clinic locations.
