Lodgepole family wows community with Christmas light display

Posted: Updated:

With the countdown to Christmas underway, people across the region are starting to put up their Christmas lights. However, some families are taking their displays to the next level.

It's not quite the run of the mill display, says David Weimer of Lodgepole.

With more than 30 thousand lights, 14 thousand light changes, and a 20 minute show, this 250 feet wide display is the talk of the town.

With 144 different settings to chose from, Weimer plans to have a different show each night for spectators.

Weimer decided to bring back the light show after suffering a stroke in 2012.At the time he had no insurance, and a lot of people in the community stepped up to help him.

This is his way to pay them back.

Weimer says it takes him and his wife 120 hours worth of labor to set up all the lights, and they are continually re-syncing them.

The Weimer's encourage people to come enjoy the fruits of the labor by watching their light show at 110 Bates Boulevard in Lodgepole.
