Man charged in rash of Scottsbluff burglaries waives preliminary hearing

The man believed to be responsible for at least three recent burglaries from Scottsbluff businesses has waived his preliminary hearing in Scotts Bluff County Court.

21-year-old Jairo Welsh of Scottsbluff is charged with burglarizing Bytes Computers, St. John's Lutheran Church and Esthetique. He was caught in the act by a video surveillance system, and police were able to identify him through that footage.

Today in court, Welsh waived his preliminary hearing, and his case will be bound over to District Court. He will make his first appearance in District Court on Friday, December 13th at 1:30 p.m.

He remains jailed on a $100,000 bond .

Welsh was convicted in 2010 for 2 other burglaries in Scottsbluff, and was paroled in May of this year.
