A man who is wanted for fleeing the State of Wyoming is under arrest following a brief scuffle with law enforcement at a Scottsbluff grocery store.

Scottsbluff police have arrested 26–year–old Adrian Sosa who is wanted for escape from a Wyoming work camp.

Scottsbluff Police Captain Tony Straub says officers worked with a family members of Sosa's to apprehend the assailant at Safeway.

The Wyoming escapee tried to flee the grocery store when police arrived but was restrained after a brief altercation.

"I think we responded appropriately," says Captain Straub.  "We'd rather have something like that happen outside rather than inside where there's other people.  Public safety is a big concern during an incident like this because you don't know whether a person that you deal with is going to be armed or unarmed or peaceful."

Sosa was taken into custody on the Wyoming warrant and has been charged with a number of additional crimes including: 'felon in possession of a firearm,' ‘3 counts of assault on a police officer,' ‘resisting arrest,' ‘possession of a controlled substance'.
