Scottsbluff Council to swear in new member

Posted: Updated:

Scottsbluff's newest council member will be officially seated at this week's city council meeting.
13-year Scottsbluff resident Elizabeth Hilyard will be sworn in on Monday evening at City Hall.

Hilyard has a strong financial background and works locally as a certified public accountant.

She will fill the seat left vacant by former councilman Mike Deibert, who has moved to Lincoln for a job promotion.
Hilyard is one of five people who submitted a letter of intent to fill the vacant city council position.
