Panhandle Humane Society has 70 pets looking for homes for Christmas

Posted: Updated:

Call it a Christmas miracle, but two inseparable pups have both been adopted by the same owner.

Shortly after they appeared on "Town Talk" with Jerry Dishong during Wednesday's Noon Review, a Yellow Lab named Lilly and a Yorkie Chihuahua named Roxy were adopted.

Panhandle Humane Society Director Cathy McDaniel says that a family saw the pups on the TV, and had to adopt them.

She says that it's nice to know that these furry friends will get to stay together, but there are still plenty of pets that are looking for homes before Christmas.

"Trucker is just one of them that we've had for a while," says McDaniel. "We even have some more sets of animals that came in together that we'd like to keep together. That's always important. it's kind of stressful for an animal to get acquainted in a new household, so if they have a partner in crime that they can go with, then that's ideal."

McDaniel says there are about 30 dogs and 40 cats (and one turtle) that are currently up for adoption, needing a good home.
