Escaped felon and accused Mitchell robber have cases bound over to District Court

Posted: Updated:

It was a busy day in Scotts Bluff County Court, as two higher-profile cases went before judges for preliminary hearings.

This morning, the man who escaped from a Wyoming Prison work camp, and then got into a scuffle with Nebraska authorities had his preliminary hearing.

26-year-old Adrian Sosa faces 5 charges in Scotts Bluff County, after police tracked him down on last week. He is being charged with felon in possession of a firearm, 2 counts of assault on a police officer, possession of a controlled substance, and resisting arrest.

Today in court, the resisting arrest charge was dropped, but Judge James Worden found there was enough evidence to send the case up to District Court. An arraignment on those four charges is scheduled for January 3rd at 1 p.m.

Also appearing for his preliminary hearing was 15-year-old Dylan Cardeilhac. He is charged with the December 3rd armed robbery of the Kwik Stop in Mitchell.

Police Chief Mike Cotant and a Torrington School Resource Officer testified. Judge Kris Mickey found there was sufficient evidence to bound this case over to District Court as well. He too will be arraigned in District Court on January 3rd at 1 p.m.
