Meister focusing on family, education, and community for legislative run

Posted: Updated:

A Scottsbluff attorney has officially thrown his hat in the race to represent the area in the Nebraska legislature.
Former Gubernatorial candidate Mike Meister his filed paperwork to run for Nebraska's 48th Legislative District.

The seat is currently held by Scottsbluff Senator John Harms, who cannot seek re-election due to term limits.

Meister feels he can represent the ideals and values that are important for the people living in Scotts Bluff County.
"Well the biggest thing is family, education, and community. Those are the 3 things we're focusing on," explains Meister. "Everything that we're looking at impacts one of those 3 areas. But if you have stronger families, you get better educated folks in the community- that strengthens the community and makes it stronger."
Meister is currently the only candidate who has announced any plans to run for legislature in the 48th District.
