Scottsbluff man accused of stealing purse from church; using cards to purchase porn, booze, and smokes

Posted: Updated:

A Scottsbluff man is feeling the wrath of the law, after being accused of stealing a purse from a woman at a local church.

33-year-old Steven Anderson was arrested earlier this week after a warrant for his arrest was issued stemming from the December 18th theft from Bible Baptist Church in Scottsbluff.

Court documents say that $8,204.57 worth of checks were in the purse... but only credit and debit cards were used following the theft.

Its alleged that Anderson went to Loaf N Jug and Big Red Liquor to purchase whiskey, cigarettes, and adult magazines using the woman's charge cards.

Anderson is charged with theft by taking and unauthorized use of a credit card.
