Slow Internet connection plaguing Goshen County schools

Posted: Updated:

School officials in Goshen County are working diligently with the state to provide the district with faster Internet connection.
Goshen County Schools Superintendent Jean Chrostoski says the district's slow bandwidth is causing a problem for teachers and school staff.

Chrostoski says so many lessons are done electronically, that a slow Internet connection severely interferes with daily activities.
"They can have all the equipment here," says Chrostoski.  "We can buy all of the i-Pads or laptops we want, but if we don't have the infrastructure to handle it, then we're not going anywhere."
A main contributing factor Chrostoski highlights is that Goshen County Schools share a bandwidth-line with Eastern Wyoming College.

Both educational institutions have been experiencing slow connectivity issues.
Chrostoski says the district will be forced to look at temporary solutions for faster broadband if the problem persists well into the new year.
