Supreme Court upholds Cheyenne County sexual assault conviction

Posted: Updated:

The Nebraska Supreme Court has upheld the conviction of a Cheyenne County man accused of inappropriately touching a little boy.

30-year-old Nathan Brauer was convicted of third degree sexual assault in Cheyenne County back in 2012.

However, the defense argued whether or not there was sufficient admissible evidence to support a felony conviction.

The high court ruled support Cheyenne County's conviction in a 4 to 3 ruling.

Court documents say that Brauer did touch a boy; but did so above the clothing.

Brauer is in the midst of serving a 2 - to - 3 year prison sentence at the Omaha Correctional Center.
