Black Hills United Way looking to close small fundraising gap

Posted:

It's getting down to the wire.

As the New Year approaches, will the area's largest fundraising organization make its goal? With one day to go, the United Way of the Black Hills is $10,000 short of it's $2,288,000 goal.

Executive Director Renee Parker says donations were better than last year but still not as good as in previous years.

The good news, Parker says is there are several new donors. The bad news is that despite their generosity the organization is still running short. "I'm hoping we have some donors come forward and help us with that additional $10,000, recognizing that the need is great, especially this year with the blizzards."

The United Way supports 52 non-profit organizations across KOTA Territory.
