Public input sought at tonight's meeting for phase two of downtown revitalization

Posted: Updated:

As Scottsbluff enters phase two of its downtown revitalization project, city staff ask community members what improvements they'd like to see.
Tonight, from 3-6 p.m., city representatives will host an 'open house' where community members and local business owners can offer improvement suggestions.

City planner Annie Folck says city staff wants the public to feel included in the revitalization effort.

On January 8th, the city's landscaping consultants will draw-up plans based on the public's input.

At 5:30 p.m. on January 8th, the public is invited to another open house for a presentation of the tentative plans and to offer additional suggestions.
"A lot of times people don't really take an interest in a project until it actually goes to construction," says Folck.  "But we want to get people's input now so we can get the best design possible and hopefully everyone will be happy with it when we finally get to the point of installing it."
Landscaping consultants 'Dropseed Studios' will consider: ADA, landscaping, hardscaping and pedestrian improvements while developing a master plan.
