SBC Commissioners raise elected officials salaries for 2015-2018 term

Posted: Updated:

Scotts Bluff County Commissioners have decided to raise elected officials salaries for the 2015-2018 term.
The proposal which was brought forth by commissioner Sherry Blaha will raise the salaries of elected officials by 4-percent in 2015 and 2-percent the remaining three years.

The 4-percent raise will be applied to the Clerk of the District Court, Treasurer, County Clerk, Register of Deeds and Assessor.

For several years, department heads have been receiving the same pay said the commissioners.

The raise will bring the salaries of these department heads closer to the salaries of similar positions in other counties.
"We may be just behind the midpoint after the next 4 years but that's something that will be looked at at that time and for now we feel that it is fair. I feel that it is fair and the department heads that were here I believe they feel that it was." Said Blaha.
Blaha said she is satisfied that a decision has been made.
