Slone unconcerned with late gubernatorial race-entry

Posted: Updated:

One of Nebraska's gubernatorial candidates says he's not worried about entering the race a little late.
Former Omaha tax attorney Bryan Slone is the newest republican candidate to enter Nebraska's race for governor.

The Gering native says he acknowledges the later-than-usual start but says there are still many months to get his message across before the primaries in May.

Slone says he has a great campaign team and countless supporters and he's excited for a very good race.
"At this point I think the messages around tax reform, around building jobs and opportunities all across the state, will in fact, be a very competitive message," says Slone.  "And I think there's plenty of time and opportunity."
Slone is a former Reagan Administration tax lawyer and he recently retired from a prominent Omaha accounting office to pursue elected office.
