SBPD investigating leads into Wednesday's armed robbery

Posted: Updated:

The search continues for the man who robbed a Scottsbluff convenience store in broad daylight on Wednesday.

Scottsbluff Police Captain Brian Wasson says police are working on some leads they received during the night.

Police say the gunman held-up the Git N' Split on 27th Street with a handgun shortly before 11 a.m.

Police say the gunman was last seen fleeing on foot east of the business with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police describe the gunman as approximately 5'6" in height. He wore dark shoes with light colored soles, dark jeans, and dark colored sweatshirt or jacket over a lighter colored shirt, and a light blue scarf or bandana over his face.  He also wore dark sunglasses and a medium shade of stocking cap.

Police are working with the store to get surveillance video of the robber.

"We had numerous law enforcement in the area within minutes of the call," says Scottsbluff Police Captain Brian Wasson. "A good saturation was done of the area.  There's always a potential of a vehicle waiting-by or things of that nature that we'll need to look into."

Anyone with information about the crime is encouraged to contact the Scottsbluff Police Department at (308) 632-7176 or anonymously by calling Scotts Bluff County Crimestoppers at (308) 632-STOP (7867).
