WNCC service project to benefit troops

Posted: Updated:

Students at Western Nebraska Community College are putting together care–packages for overseas troops.

Community members are invited to help stock these packages with a variety of toiletries, food and games.

Service project organizer Molly Bonuchi says the college will collect goods through Friday and assemble the packages next week.

All types of food and goods will be accepted, although people are encouraged to think small for packing purposes.

"Some toiletries, beef jerky apparently is huge, little travel-sized games, cards, stationary, granola bars," says Bonuchi.  "Just different things that'll keep and they'll be able to pack around."

People can bring donations to WNCC's ‘Career Advising Vocation Exploration Center, also known as ‘The Cave'.

For more details call (308) 635-6211 and ask for Molly.
