HARRISBURG, Pa., Jan. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Geneia Institute today announced a webinar exclusively designed for federally qualified health centers.  In this webinar, Medical Assistants & Patient-Centered Medical Homes, participants will learn how to engage Medical Assistants – the staff on the frontline of health care – to help federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) succeed as patient-centered medical homes.  The webinar will be offered on January 29th at noon EST and February 13th at noon EST.

Federally qualified health centers such as the Hamilton Health Center in Harrisburg, PA are increasingly adopting the patient-centered medical home (PCMH) model.  In a medical home, patients work closely with a chosen physician, a Medical Assistant, and a Care Team to manage and improve their health.  A successful implementation requires skills-based education for all members of the Care Team, especially the Medical Assistants.  

The Geneia Institute recently partnered with the Hamilton Health Center and provided comprehensive education and training to all of the Center's administrative and clinical staff.
