District Judge drops lawsuit filed by beauty queen and father

A former Nebraska beauty queen's lawsuit over injuries she suffered when a bull struck her at the 2010 Scotts Bluff County Fair has been dismissed.

The incident occurred when a bull broke loose as Jessica Littlejohn and other pageant contestants were being introduced to a crowd.

Littlejohn and her father Chip filed the suit against numerous entities, claiming  they were negligent for not securing the bull. During a 2010 interview with KOTA Territory News, Chip said that everything that could have gone wrong that evening did go wrong.

District Judge Leo Dobrovolny ruled on Tuesday that defendants in the case were not served within the required six months after the lawsuit was filed.

The Littlejohn's sought restitution for nearly $29,000 in medical expenses, in addition to physical pain and mental suffering.
