U.S. Senator pays visit to Wyo. elementary school

Posted: Updated:

A U.S. Senator from Wyoming speaks to a KOTA Territory elementary school about life and law making on Capital Hill.

The teachers, staff and student body at Trail Elementary School got a special treat this week, a visit from U.S. Senator John Barrasso.

The Republican Senator answered dozens of questions from inquisitive students asking about his job duties and the law making process in Washington D.C.

Barrasso says he wanted to visit Trail Elementary to inspire the students and teach them about perseverance and never giving–up.

He also wanted to congratulate Trail teachers: Jennifer Brummell, Susan Keller and Staci John on a special achievement.

"There are three teachers who are now newly Board Certified Teachers, which is really a function to a commitment to education and to their students and I wanted to congratulate them, as well," says Barrasso.

There are 72 new National Board Certified teachers in the State of Wyoming and three are teachers at Torrington's Trail Elementary School.
