Thrasher Music donates 2 Cort electric guitars to Midwest

Posted: Updated:

Less than a month before country music star John Michael Montgomery hits the Midwest Theater's stage for two performances, a local business owner is amplifying the excitement with a few donations.
Steve Thrasher, owner of Thrasher Music in Scottsbluff, is originally from Wyoming but says he remembers visiting the Midwest Theater years ago.

He says it's been a great process seeing the theater restored and that when he heard Montgomery would be performing he wanted to help in some way.

Thrasher says the music star usually wears a black hat so he decided to donate two black electric Cort guitars to be auctioned off after the concerts.

He says having a person like Montgomery visit Scottsbluff shows people the city is the hub for western Nebraska.
"I think we'll be drawing from Goshen county, Scotts Bluff county and all the surrounding counties as well on this. And it's went over so well that Billy said well we're doing a second night and I said, well count me in, I guess we're doing a second guitar. I want to be a part of it." Said Thrasher.
Montgomery is slated to perform February 13th and 14th at the Midwest Theater. Less than 180 tickets remain for the first concert. For more information, visit
